IF you know me, you know I'm a doer. I got the nickname Abeja (Spanish for Honeybee) for a reason. And, if you really know me, you know that my busy-ness has created some major health issues, which now require a lot of focus to keep myself in balance. Don't make the mistakes I've made! REST is the strongest immune booster available!  Winter is the time our bodies naturally slow down, go inside, sleep more, and recuperate from a busy year.  This doesn’t mean become a couch potato, but do allow yourself extra time for self care.

Stress, conversely, is a massive immune suppressant that is at epidemic levels!  So how do you manage stress outside of sessions with me?  Some simple life hacks include: 

  • Go for a walk in the morning, outside, BEFORE checking phone or email.  It doesn’t need to be long, but many studies have shown that getting natural sunlight and movement first thing in the morning changes your cortisol levels, improving sleep, digestion, weight loss and mood!
  • Limit time on social media and time consuming news.  How to do this? Make a clear agreement with yourself before turning on any media about what your goals are and how long you will stay engaged.  We’ve all done it–we start with a plan to send an email and next thing you know, we’ve followed some link down a rabbit hole or scrolled through Facebook for an hour, and still haven’t sent the email! Set a reminder alarm!
